Site Meter and Feedjit

We wish to give our special appreciation and thanks to both Site Meter (http://www.sitemeter.com) and Feedjit (http://feedjit.com) for their wonderful service and support to Shewsbury Land.

Probably many of you have your own visitors counter to record the number of page visit and/or page view and if you think that statistic is really something that you really like to analyze and something important to you, I would make a personal recommendation for you to use Site Meter (http://www.sitemeter.com) as they can provide a more accurate counter hits and statistical report for you.

You can choose to ignore your own visit from your own browser in your computers and thus even if you visit your site 50 times per day, it will not be counted and what will be recorded is only the number of other visitors (real visitors and not you) who visit/view your page.

On weekly basis, Site Meter will send a statistical report on your performance and thus if this is important to you, you can analyze the information further... but then again I have to say that not many people really bother about this anyway.

There are plenty of similar services provided by others and it's up to you to make your own choice but based on my experience, Site Meter can really provide the accurate visitors statistic and thus it will be very slow for Shewsbury Land to achieve 10,000 visitors although I probably monitor the site 7 to 8 times a day but it is never counted. Some other similar counter would record your own visits and thus if you visit/view your page for 10 times a day - that means you will get 10 hits - but in fact it is all from you.

As for Feedjit, you can basically monitor the visitors to your site on that particular day/date/time and sometimes they will even tell you from which site(s) or search engine(s) those visitors came from - be it direct hit or thru referral (i.e. Google/Yahoo/MSN etc. search engine) plus you can also analyze what are the keywords that make those new traffic directed to your site (example: 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam or Figma Tsukasa Hiiragi review etc.)

From 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2009, Shewsbury Land managed to get only 17,740 visitors/views/hits and there is nothing much to be bragged about though we are thankful and quite happy to somehow reach to that level as after all Shewsbury Land is just a simple Gundam and Figures blog just like many other out there in the World Wide Web.

As for the year of 2010 we hope to get 20,000 visitors/views/hits - I guess that is a very realistic target and of course naturally we hope to get more beyond that but there is no guarantee about it... it's all about hard work and luck.

Thank you all for your support...
