1/144 HG Gundam Nadleeh (GN-004)

This is another straight out of the box assembled Gundam Nadleeh (GN-004) the secret Mobile Suit that resides beneath Gundam Virtue's heavy armor.

It's been along time since I use my old camera, the Panasonic LZ7 so for this review and maybe a few others after this I will use this camera.

The box...

This is the Panasonic Lumix DMC LZ7... with 7MP, 6x optical zoom (at 7 MP image resolution), the Mega O.I.S. (something to stabilize the handshake and the Panasonic one is amongst the best in the industry and Panasonic/Leica models were the first ones to incorporate optical image stabilization in their digital cameras) and last but not least the gorgeous Leica lens.

My current main camera, the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ28 boast 18x optical zoom (at 10MP image resolution) so the 6x zoom on the smaller, older and cheaper LZ7 is obviously a great value in its own accord.

As someone who like toys, I do plenty of "Macro Mode" photography and in fact it is almost on daily basis... The Leica lens on the LZ7 (and also on the FZ28) perform superbly for this kind of photography and therefore I am quite happy with it.

So now let's see the Nadleeh using the 2007 model of Panasonic LZ7.

The body...

In 1/144 scale, apart from Exia, Nadleeh is in fact the best model amongst the other 4 (Exia, Dynames, Kyrios and Virtue) when it comes to articulation. Tieria Erde's mobile suits always special and always have some hidden agenda on it... In the first season of Gundam 00 anime, other than Exia I personally really like the Virtue and Nadleeh so much... It is a Yin and Yang combination where Virtue is fat and slow but heavily armed and Nadleeh is slim, more agile and pretty good with melee combat.

Kneeling is never a problem... something that is difficult for Virtue at the same scale

Nadleeh can stand on 1 leg and do the kicking stance...

With the GN Beam Rifle and Gn Shield... It would be better if you just use red marker pen for the red part on the shield rather than using that foil sticker... as you can see in the photo below, after not so long the foil sticker on the shield seems to be ugly already and certain parts on the side seems to be "loose"... I will later use red marker pen on that part... of coz it would be even better if you have the skills and tools to do proper painting job with the Tamiya air brush machine....

Some action pose with all the weapons...

I tried to copy the action pose on the box...

With the beam saber... eventually I accidentally throw away the runners without checking them at all and end up I lost the beam saber handle... for this review purpose I have to use those beam saber handles hidden on the knee of Virtue (luckily)...

With Virtue of the same scale (1/144)...

It's been a year after I got the 1/144 Hg Exia, Kyrios, Dynames and Virtue when I finally got this Nadleeh and thus my heroes collection for the Gundam 00 anime 1st season is now complete...

Overall Nadleeh as a 1/144 model kit is pretty nice, lots of articulation and nice weapon package, no obstructions and no falling parts like Exia, a really great value for money. My only complains is too many foil sticker parts especially the big one on the shield which is not great at all.

I would also like to highlight here that it would be better if you spend some time and efforts to do the panel lining for this Nadleeh. As you can see on all the photos above, I did not do any panel lining (yet) and it looks a little too plain.

I would also like to thank my friend Ryu for helping me assembling this Nadleeh. I'm a little busy with some old PS One and PS2 games recently the Suikoden 2 and Kessen 3. I also still busy planning and working on my next project "The Battle of Shewsbury Land" and thus I don't really have the time and mood to work on any GunPlaMo kits yet. Ryu's workmanship is quite OK but just like everybody else (including me) there is always room for improvement.
