WAP!01 - Kamen Rider Wizard Flame Style

This is the new Kamen Rider Wizard from the popular TV series in Japan with the same name (Kamen Rider Wizard).

Kamen Rider Wizard (仮面ライダーウィザード Kamen Raidā Wizādo?) is a Japanese tokusatsu drama in Toei Company's Kamen Rider Series, being the 14th series in the Heisei period run and the twenty-third overall. Trademarks on the title were filed by Toei in June 21, 2012, and it was officially revealed on June 27, 2012. It began airing on September 2, 2012 with the catchphrase of the series is "Now, it's showtime!" (さあ、ショ-タイムだ! Saa, shōtaimu da!?).

As for Bandai, just like the previous Kamen Rider series in the past, they produced this so-called "gimmick figure" originally intended for kids and teenagers who love to play with their Kamen Rider actions figures though eventually some adult collectors also happen to love this as well.

Since back then (say 3 years ago) Bandai produced the following:

1) WFC action figure series for Kamen Rider W
2) OCC action figure series for Kamen Rider OOO
3) FMCS action figure series for Kamen Rider Fourze

and now it's WAP! series which means "Wizard Action Please!" and this is WAP01

So without further delay, let's review this figure....

The box/packaging:

Out of the box/packaging:

You will get all these stuff;

First thing first, let's have a look at this figure;

A little bit of close up look to see the sculpt and detailing quality;

 So far so good, I personally prefer this design than the Fourze.... sorry for that, just my personal taste....

This "Wizard" have 2 rings - 1 on each hands - on the middle finger...

Articulation is very good, the usual kneeling pose is not a problem;

With the good articulation, action pose should not be a problem;

The Wizard comes with the "Wizarswordgun" that capable of transforming between a Sword Mode (ソードモード Sōdo Mōdo?) and a Gun Mode (ガンモード Gan Mōdo?) and possessing its own Hand Author, its true strength lies in having its powers combined with one of Kamen Rider Wizard's elemental Styles for either a Slash Strike (スラッシュストライク Surasshu Sutoraiku?) with the Sword Mode or a Shooting Strike (シューティングストライク Shūtingu Sutoraiku?) with the Gun Mode.

In this case, Bandai provides the "Wizarswordgun" in Sword and Gun mode.... nice!!!!

So now, let's play around with the weapons;

A fantastic unique feature on this Wizard is the lights on the face/head!!!!!! - I believe this is the first of its kind in this particular gimmick figures series.

So let's explore this lights thingy;

In a very low light situation;

Now this is cool right? I love it!!!!

Overall, this is a nice gimmick action figures from Bandai. The sculpt, detailing and painting quality is good. This figure have good articulation so you can play with it or display it in several type of action pose and you can also play around with that lights thingy.... very nice!!!!

As at today, I have watch Episode 1 of the TV series and so far I like what I saw... the Wizard seems to understand from that he is a Kamen Riderand he certainly know how to make the best use of all his potential unlike the almost idiotic Kamen Rider OOO - though even so, OOO is still my top favorite so far LOL....
