Maisto Elite Transport - Coe Flatbed & 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air - Part 1 of 2

Saw this in the local departmental store here with SGD 14.90 price tag (about USD 11.60 / 900 yen) and after some thinking and consideration I just grabbed it. Actually I really wanted the "1957 Chevrolet Bel Air" and on this particular one, the painting job and the finishing seems to be quite nice so even though I don't want the COE Flatbed (I think it's the "Chevrolet 5100 Truck" from the early 1950's - but maybe I'm wrong). So, I really want the 1957 Bel Air and the end I have no choice, just take it and pay the bills....

The "1957 Chevrolet Bel Air" included in this packaging is from the 2nd generation, Chevrolet Bel Air Hardtop Sport Coupe and as for the transport truck, I don't know much about it but the painting and finishing as well as the decals is quite yummy ^__^

So let's review this set starting from the COE Flatbed... the packaging;

We've been collecting and customizing many classic American cars at 1/64 scale from Maisto lately but this seems to be the first time we tried their offering from "Elite Transport" series;

And now, out of the packaging;

And for now, we will focus on the COE Flatbed;

And a little bit of close up look on this COE Flatbed;

As you can see from the above pictures, the detailing and the decals as well as the painting and finishing are remarkable - for item at this particular price range!!! I'm quite impress.

This is how it looks like down there.... and as usual for Maisto product in this class, they use screws and that means we can easily open it up and see the interior;

And this is now the interior;

Molded all in black seems to be minimalist but still a decent color choice.

I then decided to do some color changes and hopefully it will enhanced the looks - something like this;

Nothing great and nothing spectacular but I think it's a little better than all black....

And now let's look at the features or gimmick that this truck can offer;

So basically that thing at the back, you can move it back and forth and all the way to certain angle down to the floor so that the car can climb on it;

Yeah... and that's about it.... apart from that you can play with the truck move it back and forth like any other typical land vehicle toys... you can use your imagination for that...

Overall, I'm quite impress with this truck and in fact, I'm quite happy with it. Earlier I have to think a lot about it before I eventually pick it up and turn out to be - it's not bad after all. A little bigger space needed but it serve its purpose. I'm not really into this truck thingy and this seems to be the first truck I ever bought but somehow this have added a little bit of flavor in our classic American car collection.
