MSIA Extended - Gouf (MS-07B)

This is Gouf of Ramba Ral (MS-07B) that appear in the very first Gundam (UC:0079 One Year War) from the Extended MSIA toy division of Bandai.

Bandai's Extended MSiA figures are slightly bigger than regular MSiA, and are better-molded and more accurately painted, with shading and weathering apparent in the panel lines and joints.

Ramba Ral in the modern Gundam Seed is represented by Andrew Waltfeld the "Desert Tiger". Both Ramba Ral and Andrew Waltfeld are very skillful and known as a great tactician and a master of guerilla warfare.

Just like in Gundam Seed where Kira Yamato really have a hard time facing Andrew and his team, the same we can say to Amuro Ray as well when he had a seriously though battle with Ramba Ral squad. I think the battle with Gouf is one of the best in the anime and that is why even till nowadays many fans loved to recreate the diorama depicting this battle between Gundam and Gouf.

Just like Andrew who have this lady Aisha as his lover, Ramba Ral also have Crawley Hamon on his side.

Well, I can go on and on with the story of Rambal Ral... obviously I am a big fan of him and the Gouf.

Let's review the item now...

The box...

I really love the way they do the boxing/packaging for this MSIA Extended... very nice...

Out of the box, you will get all these items.... very good deal for 2,000 yen (about SGD 31.00) - and by the way, all the Yen price we mentioned in Shewsbury Land is only for the items if you order them from HLJ, shipment charges is another separate issue.

Let's have a look at the body...

As you can see, panel lines, shading and weathering effects are all over the body of this figure... very nice indeed, I really love it...

Since I still have my Zeon decals, I decided to give a little touch up to this Gouf.

30 minutes later... this is how it look like...

Articulation wise it's quite good, you get what you pay... joint system on the elbow and knee are better than the regular MSIA - you can see my previous regular MSIA Aile Strike and MSIA Sword Impulse.

OK, time ofr action pose with all the weapons... first we start with the rifle or is it machine gun?

Next is the famous "Hot Rod" - Amuro Ray have a though time dealing with this...

And then the heat sword which is stored in the shield.... just like in the anime...

I guess you could expect this anyway... I can help by try to recreate some of the classic battle scene between Gouf and Gundam.

Last but not least, 5-barrel 75mm machine gun, barrels mounted as left hand fingers.

Size comparison between MSIA Zudah II, MSIA Extended Gouf and HGUC 1/144 Gouf. Basically the MSIA is about 10cm tall, the Extended is about 11cm tall and the HGUC kit is about 12cm tall.

This is my previous HGUC 1/144 Gouf... too bad the movement on the legs are a bit restricted and that is why I get this MSIA Extended Gouf...

Robot Tamashii 0 Gundam and MSIA Extended Gouf...

Next we will have a look at this fellow...

Lastly, I managed to get rid my old 1/100 MG Gouf (a good friend bough it from me) and since he is one of the important pillar on my "Temple of Zeon" I need to replace him with the newer and better version and I hope that by this week my 1/100 MG Gouf Ver. 2.0 that cost about SGD 59.00 before shipment (3,800 yen) will arrive.... finally I will get the best articulated Gouf there is now and in big size of MG... they say this one is also using the same inner frame of Zaku II Ver. 2.0 with a little bit more improvement on it...lovely... I believe Ramba Ral deserve a better treatment.

The previous 1/100 MG Gouf is OK but since it was made in the year 2000, not much it can do when it comes to articulation and action pose.

We in Shewsbury Land are really looking forward for this new version MG Gouf.
