Kamen Rider Fourze FMCS 01 Base States - Part 1 of 2

Finally, after receiving various response to the costume design, Kamen Rider Fourze arrived and the 1st episode of the TV series were shown in Japan recently replacing the previous Kamen Rider OOO (or shortly known as Ozu).

As for us in Shewsbury Land, we can finally say "Ugly Betty" is finally here..... LOL no pun intended but we thought that the nick name "Ugly Betty" for this KR Fourze is kind of cute. Beneath the look, this "Betty" have lots of wonderful stuff to offer.... check out the review to learn more about our new pet, "Ugly Betty"....

First and foremost, they say beauty (and ugliness) is in the eye of the beholder. I've seen lots of negative comments from around the internet world when the first photo of KR Fourze were revealed.

Now, to be fair, it's not really that plain simple to say that KR Fourze is ugly, to some maybe yes but to other people, this Fourze is as good as it should be.... at the end, it's up to you to judge based on your preference, it's your sperm and that means you have the full right on what to say about Fouze.

By the way, if in case you dislike the look of this Fourze, don't blame Bandai coz their job is only to produce the toys and figures merchandise of the series based on the design created by Toei Co. Ltd. (the franchise owner) and possibly also with further approval from Ishimori Productions (the company of the Kamen Rider series creator).

Kamen Rider Fourze's name is meant to resemble the number 40, as Fourze serves as a 40th anniversary for the Kamen Rider Series and there are 40 different powers he can access and also to commemorates the 50th anniversary of manned spaceflight, which began with Yuri Gagarin's flight in 1961, lending itself to Fourze's spacecraft-inspired design and arsenal.

The show's catchphrase is "Switch on youth 'cause space is here!" (青春スイッチオンで宇宙キター! Seishun suitchi on de uchū kitā!) referencing the Fourze Driver (フォーゼドライバー Fōze Doraibā) transformation belt which gets its various powers from devices called Astro Switches (アストロスイッチ Asutoro Suitchi) to conjure attachments to Fourze's limbs.

As with the two previous series (Kamen Rider W and Kamen Rider OOO), the protagonist of Fourze also love to eat rice and enjoys Japanese Adult Video a lot and most likely he is not a virgin anyway.... LOL

Enough of bull shit.... let's have a look on this fun action figure;

The official full retail price for this item is 2,800 yen (about SGD 47.00 / USD 37.00) before adding shipment charges;

We managed to secure our bookings just a few days from the release date and the sales of this item was immediately "Discontinued" by HLJ, due to no stock available any longer and there is no information (yet) from Bandai about reissue or restock.

So unless if you already do some sort of pre-order or early booking from any online retail hobby and toys shop or maybe from your local hobby and toys shop, it may or may not be difficult to get this item anymore now depending on your actual location.

The box;

Front part;

Side part;

And on this rear part, Bandai give you some preview of the features on this figures and the weapons as well as some hints about future addition to the series;

Out of the box;

The manual;

These are all the outer space treasures you will get: the figures, 4 weapons accessories and 4 pieces of "missile" bullets for the launcher....

As usual in accordance to Japanese Adult Video tradition, first, let's have a look at the "main star" - the figure for Kamen Rider Fourze (FMCS series);

This is the Fourze in his standard form known as "Base States";

Which means that there will be another form of Fourze that we have yet to see and we will surely get the chance to see it very soon.

And that also means, there will be another Kamen Rider Fourze toys and action figure to be released soon...... sigh.....

Let's have a close look on the head and face part;

We've been reviewing "gimmick action figures of Kamen Rider from Bandai since the "Final Form Ride (FFR) series" for Kamen Rider Decade, followed by the "W Figure Collection (WFC) series" for Kamen Rider W and then the "OOO Combo Change (OCC) series" for Kamen Rider OOO and we saw many similarities between them but also several design evolution and innovation (for action figures and toys) along the way and Bandai have tried their to keep on improving this "gimmick figure section".

However, for the first time ever, finally, now, Bandai give a great eye detailing for this "gimmick figure section". Look at the pictures below and focus on the eye;

Now have a look at the following and focus on their eyes;

Final Form Ride Kamen Rider Decade

WFC Kamen Rider W Cyclone Joker

Kamen Rider OOO Tatooba Combo

You get what I mean?

Usually only those so called "collectors figure section" - the S.H. Figuarts and the SIC (as well as SIC Kiwami Tamashii have that kind of details on their eyes but all the "gimmick figure section" only get a simple painted with a little bit of glossy coat version.

Nonetheless, the Fourze now get much better details for his eyes. Well done Bandai, this is more than welcome improvement.

Apart from that, still on the head section, Bandai also use clear parts for certain section on the face/head. Look at this picture and focus on item marked with Red Arrow;

Very very nice.... feel like sex orgasm.... LOL

Next, we take a close look on the body;

The shoulder;

The belt;

And the four limbs with (possibly) Sony PlayStation controller marking style;

Articulation is very good, the usual kneeling pose is never a problem;

As you can see from the box picture, there are some good improvement on articulation on the neck/head part;

The WFC and OCC figures series don't have articulation on the waist part, though this is in order to enable the body parts detaching function. However, this FMSC figures now have it all so you can turn the body to the left and right;

Shoulder and arms articulation is as good as you would want it to be;

And so as the hips, knee and legs part - articulation is very good;

And on the ankle.... Bandai made further improvement though it has to be said that they need to do it this time so that the Fourze can use his "leg gadgets";

Now the ankle can do this;

In case you interested, that is how Bandai designed the ankle joint parts, something like those in S.H. Figuarts.

With the new ankle articulation improvement...... Ballet anyone?

And a little bit more on the articulation ability of this figure;

Now I did mentioned about Sony PlayStation earlier. It is surely just my personal assumption. When I was doing the review of this figure, it is pretty much reminded me of my white Sony PS2;

I mean, look at this;

And have a look at this again;

You can't blame me for thinking about possible links of the design with my white Sony PS2, maybe I am right but maybe I am totally wrong as well, after all we need sex, I like sex and so do you... life without sex can be difficult like a tree without fruits.... LOL

Only the custom and character designer knew the exact reason for them to have that familiar symbol on Fourze. It is also possible that they love orgy and "bukake" genre though that has nothing to do with Fouze at all..... LOL
