WFC 01 Kamen Rider Double Cyclone Joker

As a tribute to the recently concluded Kamen Rider Double (W) TV series, Shewsbury Land is proud to do the review for all the figures from the WFC action figures/toys line up from Bandai.

WFC, I suppose the meaning is "W Figure Collection" ? Well, as usual maybe I'm wrong.

From our observation and experience after reviewing several types of action figures from various different series of Kamen Riders, our opinion is that this "WFC series" are basically an evolution from the previous transformable "FFR series" that we reviewed here in Shewsbury Land.

You can read our review of those Kamen Rider action figures from the FFR series from the links below:

Final Form Ride FFR11 Kamen Rider Decade Complete Form

FFR00 Kamen Rider Decade
FFR06 Kamen Rider Diend
FFR01 Kuuga Gouram
FFR04 Faiz Blaster
FFR07 Agito Tornador
FFR02 Ryuki Dragreder
FFR05 Kiva Arrow
FFR00 Kamen Rider Decade
FFR09 Kamen Rider Hibiki Ongekiko
FFR08 Den-O Momotaros

For this review purpose, we are so lucky to be supplied with the complete 6 units from the series, Number 1 to Number 6.... well, eventually we did bought 1 of them, the No. 4 WFC Kamen Rider Fang Joker.

As at the day of this review, if you happen to be interested, and if you can't find these from the local hobby/toys retailer near you, you can still grab all these 6 units directly from HLJ from the link below;

http://www.hlj.com/hljlist2/?Word=WFC&Dis=-2

*Please take note that the "stock status" might change rapidly on daily basis.

The price range of this series is from 2,200 yen (roughly about SGD 35.00) to the maximum 2,800 yen (SGD 45.00) - all that excluding shipment charges. That means the difference is between 300 yen to 700 yen maximum if you compared them to the S.H. Figuarts series per se.

So it is correct to say that this WFC series is a cheaper alternative to the S.H. Figuarts but in addition to some of their weaknesses here and there (if compared to those from S.H. Figuarts), the WFC series somehow managed to offer something unique that the S.H. Figuarts can't provide.

To learn more about this WFC series, in this 5-6 days continuously, we will have a look at all of them here in Shewsbury Land starting with Cyclone Joker.

So this is now the review of WFC Kamen Rider Double Cyclone Joker.

WFC 01 Kamen Rider Double Cyclone Joker

The price is 2,200 yen (about SGD 35.00) before adding the shipment charges.

The box...

Out of the box....

You will get the figure separated into 2 halves and the signature muffler....

So this is the green half....

And this is the black half....

Divide and Combine, that's the main phrase for this WFC series....

You shall attached the muffler at his back like this....

So as usual, let' s look at the figure thoroughly....

As we suspect and mentioned earlier, this WFC is indeed and evolution from the previous FFR series, certain body and limbs parts have identical design features.

The belt...

Articulation and pivot points on the arms and elbow...

Articulation on the hands.... in fact, the hands are a little to large to fit into the proportion of this figure and all the others in WFC series...

It's difficult to do the usual kneeling pose... this is what he can barely achieved....

And the rest of the articulation and pivot points test....

Articulation for the head/neck is not good....

You can only turn the head to left and right - up to this far only.... no further....

Yup that's about it....

OK the, straight away... pose time....

The usual Kamen Rider Kick does not look too interesting for all figures from the WFC series.

Well, that's about it, the limitation on the dynamic movement range on the pivot points around the limbs will limit the action pose ability....

Now the main highlight of this WFC series is in fact "Divide and Combine" and that means if you have all the 3 or 4 figures from this series, you can get many different variations of Kamen Rider Double (or W) forms as seen in the TV.....

Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to watched the TV series yet as I'm still analyzing plenty of Yuma Asami AV movies currently.... hopefully someday I will have the time for Kamen rider Double (W).

So for this review sake, we presents the "Divide and Combine" features of this WFC series below:

The previous FFR series promised you lots of fun with the transformation and combination features and this WFC offer you the chance to have all the forms of Kamen Rider Double so that you can change it everyday as you please...

Overall, this WFC series is just slightly cheaper from the more popular S.H. Figuarts series but they manage to offer something that S.H. Figuarts can't provide. Articulation in our opinion is just about average, nothing much to shout about. Though you have the articulation on the elbow and knee joints, don't expect anything superior. If you can look beyond thee articulation issue, you will somehow having fun with figure especially as display purpose.

S.H. Figuarts series seems to be very popular amongst the toy/figure collectors but Bandai is targeting different market segments and audience for their FFR and WFC series and don't be surprised that in Japan and the Chinese region, the FFR and WFC series seems to be quite popular and along the way there are some serious/matured collectors who also happen to like this alternative figure series from Bandai.

Additionally, you can also read the review of the other WFC figure as below;
