Brunei International Tattoo 2011

As I mentioned in the previous article, we promise to share some photos and videos from the event however and apparently, I decided to just share less photos but instead uploading all the videos that we have at our disposal.

The Brunei Darussalam International Tattoo 2011 is basically an event filled with wonderful musical and marching band performance from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and this year we will also witness performance from other countries like Australia, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia, Sultanate of Oman, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Philippines, the Republic of Singapore, the Kingdom of Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

The Brunei Darussalam International Tattoo 2011 will run on 3 consecutive days and nights, commencing with the first show on the evening of 31st of May 2011, two shows on 1st of June 2011 and two more on 2nd of June 2011. The shows will showcase bands from Brunei Darussalam, Australia, the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Indonesia, Malaysia, Sultanate of Oman, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Philippines, the Republic of Singapore, the Kingdom of Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

Brunei Darussalam’s own bands from the RBAF, the Royal Brunei Police Force, the Fire and Rescue Department and the Prisons Department will be leading the performance. The highlight of the show will be a Grand Finale by the massed bands of all participants combined to perform a specially arranged musical score with a fireworks display which will make show an unforgettable experience.

But first, some of the photos;

The VIP guest of the day - Her Royal Highness Princess Sarah and her children...

The first individual country performance is from Australia;

The second performance is from the host nation, Brunei Darussalam;

Followed by Oman;

Followed by this acrobatic show from Guangzhou Acrobatic Team, representing China.

Followed by Pakistan, in my opinion their performance is quite boring and as my SD Card are almost full I decided to just delete the short video of their performance and use the space for other performance instead...

After that followed by performance from Malaysia;

And then it's time for the "mabuhai" - The Philippines;

And followed by my home country, Thailand;

And then, another performance from Malaysia - something like acrobatic motorbike stunt team;

After that, simple "pop and rock & roll musical" of performance from the USA, I don't think it's special as we used to see "rock band" playing often so I didn't bother to record any video for this performance as well. Nonetheless, it is still quite an entertaining performance from them;

And followed by another performance from the host country, Brunei. The first performance are representation of a combination of police, prison department and fire & rescue department while this second performance are more focused into Royal Brunei Armed Forces coupled with some cultural and arts section from other government agencies;

And after that it's time for the United Kingdom - eventually the performance is from their Gurkha Division (Gurkha = Nepalist)

After that the Indonesia take the center stage;

And followed by Singapore;

And of course, last but not least, combined performance lead by the host nation Brunei for the closing ceremony;

After that it's time to go home.....

Outside the indoor stadium you can see all this military exhibition stuff;

And now - the lousy videos;

Bear in mind that these videos are captured by me (a beginner who have no skills what so ever about "video recording stuff" so don't expect a "wonderful video or quality" or anything alike. I agree if you say they are all sucks, but hey, at least I got something to share (and for free) with all of you.

These videos were captured using Canon SX30IS which I borrowed from my good friend Billy Wong in VGA mode though eventually I have to resized them into FLV format (in low quality) so that it will be easier for uploading purpose - our internet connection speed in here is not as good as in Japan or Korea so we have to make do with what ever we have and live with it....

Lot's of work involved to produce this article, so I hope you can appreciate it by just not complaining like a bitch.... LOL

Just watch it and hopefully you enjoy it....

This is my first time ever witnessing this kind of event/show and I would say that it's kind of fund and I'm very happy with it. Well done to the host nation Brunei, especially those involved directly, working hard to make it happen. We really appreciate their hard work and efforts to organized such a wonderful event.

Happy 50th Anniversary to the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.

Congratulations and thank you to all the participating countries for their performance.
