Morning in the park

While waiting for the Full Armor Unicorn Gundam, Strike Freedom Gundam and few others to arrive in Shewsbury Land - most probably by next week (depending on their actual release date in Japan and when they send it out to us), I guess we can take some break from figure and toy review and looking at the beauty of nature...

I went to the park early in the morning recently and I was so amazed at how beautiful it was in the morning, I managed to get plenty of interesting stuff for photography.

First up is monkeys... lot's of them... probably looking for some nice breakfast from within the neighborhood....

I guess he said.... "Why I have to do this kind of thing..."

Benjamin Franklin said flowers are at their most beautiful form early in the morning.... and surely I think that is true...

A drop of water on the plant or flower in the morning is brilliant....

And then as I move on... I found something that fascinate me for a long time... and insect having breakfast...

I'm not sure if it's just another species of fly or is it some sort of bee or any other type of insects...

This blue color fly is unique but very difficult to grab a good shot of it....

And for the first time I found this insect... not sure what the name...

I don't dare to touch it as it might be poisonous....

  1. Wow DJ, your shots are amazing man! I read that morning is best for such shots due to the absence of wind haha ^^. I love those shots of the water droplets!

  2. Thanks for your appreciation Chubby... great results required great efforts...

In this case my efforts are to wake up early in the morning and as usual with Macro shots without using tripod - I have to do lots of squatting, kneeling and what ever for the sake of getting the best angle...

When I went back home, I feel so tired and after shower and eating, I slept from 11am to 3pm hahahahaha... damn it was tiring...

  4. Syful, actually I do have a decent tripod - the only time I ever use it is for the fireworks shot...

From my experience... if you take Macro photography in the Tasik park... it is almost difficult to use Tripod due to the terrain / land relief / surface...

Plus by the time you finish set up and adjusting the tripod... the insects/bugs might gone away...

So the best way is the spontaneous way... look for it, once you found it... just do your best to shoot it... I think my hand can handle it now after lot's of struggle and practice hahahaha.....

  6. BD77, last time my fren have the same problem with monkeys. What he did is he captured one of them and kill it and cut off the head and display the head in the cage outside his house.

When the monkey saw 1 of their friend's head were on display there... they never dare to come anymore...

Apparently after a while it become smelly and since his neighbor complains, at the end my friend have to remove the monkey's head...

But the good thing is the other monkey never dare to come to his house anymore...

Kill 1 to teach the others... a very effective way to deal such problem.

If it's me, I will tortured it slowly and brutally first in front of the other monkeys and eventually kill it, slowly but surely... that would be more fun than killing it quickly...

As for the Macro shots.... you can do it as well next time once you have the right camera and tools - and more importantly you must have the willingness to explore the world of Macro photography and live with the pain that comes with it... hahahaha
