Final Form Ride FFR00 Kamen Rider Decade

This is the review of Final Form Ride FFR00 Kamen Rider Decade (Masked Rider Decade) from the TV series of the same title (Kamen Rider Decade / Masked Rider Decade).

The box...

Out of the box...

You will get the figure...

The Ride Booker comes in all modes (Book, Gun, and Sword modes) and the action base to assist dynamic action pose...

And lastly this card... I think you can use this for those arcade game of Kamen Rider Decade, something like that Initial D arcade games card...

Let's have a look at the Kamen Rider Decade figure...

Details wise it's quite OK, nothing great to shout about but I personally think that the S.I.C. Kiwami Tamashii figures are far more better when it comes to the sculpt and details quality.

And now the articulation and pivot point test....

Since this is out first ever action figure from the FFR series, we've done lot's of testing on the articulation and thus there are plenty of photos on this section....

It's good to know that this figure can still do this kneeling pose... a standard articulation test procedure in Shewsbury Land.

The knee joint system...

There is also an additional swivel movement point on top of the knee joint...

Articulation on the ankle part....

Yup that's about it, straight, left and right...

And now the leg's articulation and movement range....

Though it is possible to do the kicking action like in the above photo, the leg movement to the back side is limited - see the photo below;

Articulation on the waist... you can turn it to the left and right....

And you can turn it 360 degrees like this;

And now the arms articulation;

This is the maximum stretch...

The joint on the shoulder...

The joint on the elbow...

Just like the hip, there is a swivel pivot points above the elbow...

Articulation on the head/neck...

Just like the waist part, you can turn left to right... and 360 degrees...

Size comparison with SH Figuarts (Shocker Rider)

Size comparison with SH Figuarts (Shocker Rider) and S.I.C. Kiwami Tamashii (Ryuki)

Size comparison with SH Figuarts (Shocker Rider), S.I.C. Kiwami Tamashii (Ryuki), 1/144 scale Gundam, Hasbro's Star Wars figure (Hans Solo) and Figma Tsukasa.

Due to it's size and retail price, the closest comparison we can make is the SH Figuarts figure. As you can see from several photos below, they're many things that SH Figuarts figure can do but this FFR figure apparently struggle to match it but there are also certain things that only this FFR figure can do but SH Figuarts figure failed to do....

That is basically the reason why Bandai provide that action base to assist dynamic action pose...

The reason why I compare this FFR figure with SH Figuarts figure is simply because of the price.

Now most of the SH Figuarts figures costs around 2,200 yen to 3,200 yen (SGD 36.00 to SGD 52.00) depending on the characters and/or models.... (this is before shipment charges)

This FFR figure price however are mostly 2,300 yen (SGD 37.00) though there are 1 or 2 reaching 2,500 yen (SGD 40.00)

From the size comparison photo above, you can see that the SH Figuarts is taller than the FFR.

My personal opinion based on my observation between these 2 figures, SH Figuarts is basically the winner. They have better proportion, brilliant articulation and pivot points, more dynamic limbs movement range, slightly better materials and better quality even though the average price is only slightly higher price than the FFR series.

My verdict is that SH Figuarts is the obvious winner here. I personally feel that SH Figuarts figure have better articulation and dynamic limbs movement range are than those Figma offered by Max Factory but even so, there is also another reason why we (the Figma fans) love Figma so much...

So now let's have a look at the weapons that comes with this FFR Kamen Rider Decade.

The Ride Booker in 3 different modes (Book, Gun and Sword mode)...

But before we go further, have a look at the hands... this FFR figure doesn't give you any extra/optional hands like SH Figuarts did.

The hands basically have good articulation - just like those Gundams (GunPlaMo kits) from the 1/100 MG series.

So don't worry about it, the hand can grab the weapon accordingly....

And now, finally action pose time....

Overall, despite the weakness here and there, I still think that this action figure is some how quite fun to play with. It has decent articulations and pivot points and all the weapons that you need. As it is, this FFR Kamen Rider Decade is... fun - and I personally like it a lot.

At 2,300 yen (about SGD 37.00) I will not buying this action figure though. I think at that price it is expensive knowing that the more superior S.H.Figuarts Kamen Rider Decade is available at 2,800 yen (about SGD 45.00).

But since at the time when we bought this figure, we managed to get huge discounts and end up paying only 805 yen (about SGD 13.00) - plus a bonus of 76% discount on shipment at that time.... certainly a great bargain not to be missed.

In my opinion, Bandai should just advertise this as 1,300 yen instead of 2,300 yen - but then again I'm not Bandai and I have no power to influence the pricing. I think 2,300 yen sound so retarded for this figure while 1,300 yen is kind of more logical (though lower than this would be even better)
